Job Title: Executive Chef – Pan-Asian Specialty Restaurant
Job Summary
We are setting up a premium Pan-Asian specialty restaurant and are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead the culinary vision and kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating an authentic and innovative Pan-Asian dining experience, covering cuisines such as Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Korean, and other Asian specialties.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the complete kitchen setup for the new Pan-Asian restaurant
- Design and develop a unique, high-quality Pan-Asian menu aligned with the restaurant concept
- Create signature dishes and seasonal specials to establish brand identity
- Recruit, train, and manage the kitchen team from scratch
- Establish kitchen SOPs, recipes, plating standards, and workflow systems
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure smooth service execution
- Maintain strict hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards
- Manage food costing, budgeting, and inventory control efficiently
- Source quality ingredients and coordinate with suppliers
- Continuously innovate and update the menu based on trends and guest feedback
- Work closely with management on branding, promotions, and guest experience
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef / Head Chef in Pan-Asian or Asian specialty restaurants
- Strong expertise in multiple Asian cuisines (Chinese, Thai, Japanese, etc.)
- Experience in restaurant pre-opening or launch setups is highly preferred
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Deep understanding of kitchen operations, costing, and menu engineering
- Ability to design and maintain a strong culinary concept identity
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to perform under pressure in a high-volume service environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience in standalone specialty restaurants or premium dining concepts
- Creative approach to menu design and presentation
- Strong knowledge of modern Asian fusion trends (optional)
- Vendor management and sourcing experience
