Cylindrical Grinder Operator – Job Description
Position: Cylindrical Grinder Operator-Peenya, Bangalore
Department: Manufacturing / Machine Shop
Reports To: Production Supervisor
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate cylindrical grinding machines to grind external and internal surfaces of metal components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Select grinding wheels, fixtures, and machine settings according to specifications.
- Measure finished parts using precision instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, bore gauges, and dial indicators.
- Maintain dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and tolerance requirements.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment in good working condition.
- Inspect finished components and document quality results.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
- Troubleshoot grinding issues and make machine adjustments as needed.
Required Skills
- Experience operating cylindrical grinding machines.
- Ability to read technical drawings and understand GD&T concepts.
- Knowledge of grinding wheel selection and machine setup.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
- Understanding of manufacturing quality standards and safety practices.
Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 2–5 years of experience in cylindrical grinding operations (experience requirement can be adjusted).
- Knowledge of CNC cylindrical grinding is an added advantage.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to handle metal components and tooling safely.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹28,394.81 per month
