Job Location
Navi Mumbai - Fuel Distribution System (Tank Farm / Fuel Terminal / Airport Fuel Hydrant System)
Job Summary:
The Argon Welder (TIG Welder) is responsible for performing high-precision welding using the Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG) process with Argon shielding gas on fuel distribution piping systems. The welder ensures that all welding work complies with approved WPS, project specifications, and safety standards applicable to EPC construction projects involving flammable fuel systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. TIG / Argon Welding
Perform Argon (TIG/GTAW) welding on piping used in fuel transfer and distribution systems.
Weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steel piping as per project requirements.
Ensure proper root pass welding for critical fuel piping joints.
Maintain weld quality in accordance with WPS (Welding Procedure Specification).
2. Joint PreparationL
Check fit-up and alignment of pipes and fittings before welding.
Ensure clean and proper joint preparation including bevels and root gaps.
Remove oil, rust, moisture, and contamination before welding.
3. Welding Quality Control:
Produce welds that meet visual inspection and NDT requirements such as:
Radiographic Testing (RT)
Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
Dye Penetrant Testing (PT)

Porosity
Lack of fusion
Cracks
Undercut
4. Compliance with WPS and Drawings:
Follow approved WPS, PQR, and welding procedures.
Understand and follow piping isometric drawings and weld maps.
Use correct welding parameters (current, polarity, filler material).
5. Equipment Operation :
