Position: EYP Homeroom Teacher
Location: Dabolim, Goa
Reports to: EYP Coordinator / Principal
Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Work Hours: Monday–Friday (8:30 AM – 3:30 PM) | Alternate Saturdays Working
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Role Overview
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated EYP Teacher to create a joyful and engaging learning environment for children aged 1.5 to 6 years. The teacher will facilitate play-based and experiential learning experiences that support the overall development of young learners while ensuring their safety, well-being, and emotional security.
Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Learning
- Plan and implement age-appropriate, play-based learning experiences
- Design activities that support language, numeracy, motor, social, and creative development
- Use storytelling, music, movement, and hands-on exploration as key teaching strategies
- Encourage curiosity, imagination, and independent thinking
- Adapt teaching methods based on children's developmental needs
2. Classroom Environment & Culture
- Create a safe, warm, and stimulating classroom environment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly learning space
- Establish positive routines and smooth transitions throughout the day
- Promote inclusivity, respect, and positive behaviour
3. Observation, Assessment & Documentation
- Observe and assess children’s development using anecdotal records, checklists, and portfolios
- Track developmental milestones across domains
- Maintain documentation of children's learning and progress
- Use observations to plan next steps in learning
4. Parent Communication
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding child progress and classroom updates
- Share observations, reports, and developmental feedback
- Build strong partnerships with families to support each child’s growth
5. Collaboration & Professional Engagement
- Work collaboratively with co-teachers and support staff
- Participate in curriculum planning, school events, and celebrations
- Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions
- Contribute to a positive and supportive school culture
6. Child Care, Safety & Well-being
- Ensure safety, hygiene, and well-being of children at all times
- Support children in daily routines such as eating, toileting, and transitions
- Use positive behaviour management strategies
- Provide emotional support and build secure relationships with children
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred)
- Diploma/Certification in ECCE (Early Childhood Care & Education)
- Minimum 1 year experience working with preschool children (preferred)
- Strong understanding of child development and early learning principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with young children
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team
