Job Description – Curriculum Head
Location: Presidium School, Gurugram Sector 57
Position Summary
The Curriculum Head is responsible for providing academic leadership by designing, implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving the school's curriculum in alignment with CBSE guidelines and the vision of Presidium School. The role focuses on ensuring high-quality teaching-learning practices, curriculum consistency across grades, teacher development, assessment excellence, and improved student learning outcomes.
Key ResponsibilitiesCurriculum Planning & Development
- Develop, review, and implement curriculum frameworks aligned with CBSE and school objectives.
- Ensure vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment across all grades.
- Prepare yearly academic plans, curriculum maps, lesson planning formats, and assessment schedules.
- Integrate 21st-century skills, experiential learning, NEP 2020 recommendations, and technology into classroom practices.
Academic Leadership
- Lead and mentor Academic Coordinators, HODs, and teachers.
- Monitor classroom instruction and ensure effective pedagogical practices.
- Conduct regular classroom observations and provide constructive feedback.
- Promote innovative teaching methodologies and inquiry-based learning.
Assessment & Quality Assurance
- Design and monitor formative and summative assessment practices.
- Analyze assessment data to identify learning gaps and recommend interventions.
- Ensure quality standards in lesson planning, worksheets, question papers, and report cards.
- Drive continuous academic improvement through measurable learning outcomes.
Teacher Development
- Organize teacher induction, mentoring, workshops, and professional development programs.
- Coach teachers on classroom management, instructional strategies, and assessment techniques.
- Build a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
Academic Monitoring
- Review curriculum implementation through regular audits and academic reviews.
- Ensure timely completion of syllabus and curriculum milestones.
- Monitor academic documentation and maintain curriculum records.
Parent & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with school leadership to enhance academic standards.
- Address curriculum-related concerns of parents and conduct orientation sessions.
- Support academic events, exhibitions, Olympiads, competitions, and enrichment programs.
Compliance
- Ensure curriculum implementation complies with CBSE regulations and school policies.
- Maintain academic records and documentation required for inspections and audits.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Education or a relevant subject (B.Ed. mandatory; M.Ed. preferred).
- Minimum 8–12 years of teaching experience with 3–5 years in academic leadership, curriculum planning, or coordination.
- Strong understanding of CBSE curriculum, assessment frameworks, and NEP 2020.
- Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
