We are looking for a skilled Welder to fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components for Special Purpose Machines (SPM). The role involves reading drawings, setting up fixtures, performing MIG/TIG/ARC welding as per specifications, and ensuring high-quality welds that meet dimensional and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols for SPM structures and assemblies.
- Set up jigs, fixtures, and workpieces as per SPM design requirements.
- Perform MIG/TIG/ARC welding on mild steel, stainless steel, and other alloys used in SPM fabrication.
- Follow routing sheets, BOMs, and work instructions to complete weld assemblies accurately.
- Grind, clean, and finish welds to meet dimensional and surface-quality standards.
- Conduct visual inspections of welds; carry out basic dimensional checks using measuring tools.
- Maintain welding equipment, report faults, and ensure all safety devices are in use.
- Adhere to shop-floor safety norms (PPE, fire safety, housekeeping, LOTO where applicable).
- Coordinate with fitters, machinists, and quality team to ensure timely completion of SPM jobs.
- Maintain daily production logs, job cards, and scan/track parts as per shop-floor system (if applicable).
Required Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Welding Technology or equivalent.
- 2–5 years of experience in structural/fabrication welding; SPM or machine-building experience is a plus.
- Valid welding certification (e.g., AWS/ASME/ITI) preferred.
