Job Title: Senior Android Developer (Email Application)

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Android Developer with strong expertise in email application development to design, build, and maintain high-performance, secure, and scalable Android applications. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of Android architecture, messaging protocols, background services, and user-centric mobile experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Android email applications with a focus on performance, security, and usability.
- Implement and optimize email protocols, including IMAP, SMTP, POP3, and Exchange ActiveSync.
- Develop features including inbox synchronization, push notifications, attachments handling, search, threading, and offline access.
- Work with background services, job schedulers, and sync adapters for efficient data handling.
- Ensure secure email communication using encryption, authentication, and data protection best practices.
- Collaborate with backend, QA, and product teams to deliver high-quality features.
- Optimize applications for performance, battery usage, and memory management.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production issues.
- Lead code reviews and enforce Android best practices and coding standards.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to architectural decisions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 9+ years of hands-on experience in Android application development.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java.
- Proven experience developing email or messaging applications.
- Solid understanding of Android components: Activities, Fragments, Services, Broadcast Receivers, Content Providers.
- Experience with email synchronization, background processing, and push notifications (FCM).
- Knowledge of Android security best practices (OAuth, encryption, secure storage).
- Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and backend integration.
- Strong understanding of MVVM/MVP architecture patterns.
- Experience with Android Jetpack libraries (Room, WorkManager, LiveData).
- Familiarity with Play Store deployment and app lifecycle management.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with enterprise email systems (Exchange, Office 365, Gmail APIs).
- Knowledge of end-to-end encryption and secure messaging.
- Experience with multi-account email handling.
- Prior experience working on large-scale consumer or enterprise mobile apps.
