Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care
- Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures as per protocol.
- Verify patient identity, consent, and required documentation.
- Assist in positioning and monitoring patients during procedures.
- Provide reassurance and support to patients before, during, and after procedures.
- Assist in transferring patients safely.
Procedure Assistance
- Assist consultants during upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, ERCP, EUS, bronchoscopy (if applicable), and other endoscopic procedures.
- Prepare all instruments, accessories, and consumables before procedures.
- Handle biopsy forceps, snares, clips, guidewires, injection needles, and other accessories during procedures.
- Assist in specimen collection, labeling, and transportation to the laboratory.
Equipment Management
- Prepare, test, and calibrate endoscopy equipment before each procedure.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report major faults immediately.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs with the Biomedical Engineering Department.
- Maintain an inventory of endoscopy accessories and consumables.
Cleaning & Disinfection
- Perform cleaning, leak testing, high-level disinfection (HLD), drying, and storage of endoscopes as per manufacturer and infection control guidelines.
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of Endoscope Reprocessor (if available).
- Maintain sterilization and disinfection records.
- Follow NABH and infection control protocols.
Documentation
- Maintain procedure registers and equipment logbooks.
- Record scope usage and disinfection details.
- Document equipment maintenance records.
- Maintain inventory records of consumables.
Infection Control & Safety
- Follow standard precautions and PPE guidelines.
- Ensure biomedical waste segregation as per BMW Rules.
- Report incidents, needle-stick injuries, or equipment malfunction immediately.
- Maintain cleanliness of the Endoscopy Suite.
Coordination
- Coordinate with consultants, nursing staff, OT, CSSD, laboratory, radiology, and Biomedical Engineering departments.
- Assist in scheduling procedures and ensuring availability of required equipment.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
