Summary:
A skilled Linux Administrator with 2–4 years of hands-on experience, capable of independently handling L2 operations and providing limited assistance on L3 escalations. The role requires a deeper understanding of Linux internals, scripting, and infrastructure tooling. The candidate is expected to take ownership of incidents, drive problem resolution, and contribute to automation and process improvement efforts.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- L2 Operations & Incident Management
- Own and resolve L2 incidents, service requests, and problems end-to-end within SLA.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring incidents and propose preventive measures.
- Conduct proactive monitoring and performance trending to prevent outages.
- Execute patching, upgrades, and vulnerability remediation activities.
- Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) as an implementer for standard changes.
- Advanced Linux Administration
- Administer and tune RHEL / CentOS / Ubuntu servers in production environments.
- Manage storage: LVM, RAID, NFS, Samba, and SAN/NAS connectivity basics.
- Configure and manage network services: DHCP, DNS (BIND), NTP, SSH, and VPN clients.
- Administer web and application servers: Apache/Nginx, Tomcat (basic).
- Manage security: SELinux, sudo policies, PAM, auditing, and SSH hardening.
- Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions.
- Write and maintain bash/shell scripts for operational automation.
- Tooling & Collaboration
- Use configuration management basics (Ansible playbooks) for repetitive tasks.
- Manage and maintain monitoring tools create and tune alerts and dashboards.
- Mentor CL-12 administrators and review their work.
- Contribute to knowledge base articles, runbooks, and post-incident reviews.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Linux Architecture.
- Strong knowledge of system troubleshooting and incident management.
- Experience in creating and implementing Requests for Change.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with vendors and service management teams.
- Familiarity with maintaining and updating technical documentation and knowledge bases.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 2 years of experience in Linux Architecture.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
- RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator) – required
- RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) – desirable
- Linux Foundation Certified SysAdmin (LFCS) – acceptable alternative
