The OT Coordinator is responsible for the smooth functioning of the Operation Theatre by coordinating surgical schedules, managing OT staff, ensuring equipment and instrument availability, maintaining NABH protocols, and facilitating effective communication between surgeons, anesthetists, nursing staff, and support departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate the daily OT schedule in consultation with surgeons and anesthesiologists.
- Ensure OT readiness before every surgery, including instruments, implants, consumables, equipment, and manpower.
- Coordinate with CSSD for sterilized instrument sets and linen availability.
- Verify patient identity, consent forms, investigations, and pre-operative checklist before surgery.
- Coordinate with ICU, wards, laboratory, blood bank, radiology, pharmacy, and MRD for seamless patient care.
- Monitor OT utilization and minimize delays or cancellations.
- Ensure OT documentation is complete and accurate.
- Supervise OT technicians, OT nurses, housekeeping, and support staff.
- Ensure compliance with infection control practices, biomedical waste management, and NABH standards.
- Report equipment breakdowns and coordinate timely maintenance.
- Monitor inventory of OT consumables and implants and raise indent requests.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, audits, and staff training.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly OT performance reports.
- Handle emergency surgeries efficiently and coordinate resources.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) / Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology (DOTT) / B.Sc. Operation Theatre Technology or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of OT experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or coordinator role preferred.
Skills Required
- Strong leadership and team coordination.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of NABH standards and OT protocols.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage emergencies.
- Proficiency in hospital information systems (HIS) and MS Office.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
