The University is seeking a dynamic, accomplished, and entrepreneurial-minded academic professional for the position of Associate Professor / Assistant Professor – Startup & Entrepreneurship. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in strengthening the University's entrepreneurship ecosystem by delivering high-quality teaching, mentoring student entrepreneurs, facilitating incubation initiatives, establishing industry partnerships, and contributing to research and innovation activities.
The ideal candidate should possess a blend of academic expertise and practical exposure to startups, incubation, venture development, innovation management, and entrepreneurial ecosystems.
Teach undergraduate, postgraduate-level courses in Entrepreneurship, Startup Management, Innovation Management, Design Thinking, Business Model Development, Social Entrepreneurship, and related subjects.
Design and update curriculum in alignment with emerging industry trends, startup practices, and national innovation policies.
Develop case studies, experiential learning modules, simulations, and project-based learning activities.
Guide students in capstone projects, dissertations, and entrepreneurship-related academic assignments.
Contribute to academic quality assurance processes, accreditation activities, and curriculum reviews.
Mentor students, faculty members, and aspiring entrepreneurs in transforming innovative ideas into viable business ventures.
Support the establishment, growth, and management of incubation and pre-incubation programs within the University.
Assist startups in areas such as business planning, market validation, go-to-market strategies, fundraising readiness, and scaling strategies.
Organize startup boot camps, innovation challenges, hackathons, business plan competitions, and entrepreneurial development programs.
Facilitate access to government schemes, startup grants, seed funding opportunities, and innovation support initiatives.
Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with startups, incubators, accelerators, venture capital firms, angel investors, industry associations, and government agencies.
Invite entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts for guest lectures, workshops, and mentorship sessions.
Promote collaborative projects between academia and industry to enhance practical exposure for students.
Build networks that provide internship, live project, and startup engagement opportunities for students.
Conduct high-quality research in the domains of entrepreneurship, innovation, startup ecosystems, and emerging business models.
Publish research papers in reputed national and international journals indexed in recognized databases.
Present research findings at conferences, seminars, and industry forums.
Pursue sponsored research projects, consultancy assignments, and funded innovation initiatives.
Contribute to the University's intellectual property development through patents, copyrights, and technology commercialization activities.
Participate actively in departmental committees, faculty meetings, and institutional development initiatives.
Support accreditation bodies, ranking frameworks, and quality assurance processes.
Assist in student outreach, admissions-related activities, and entrepreneurship promotion initiatives.
Undertake additional responsibilities assigned by the University leadership from time to time.
Ph.D. in Management, Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Business Administration, or a related discipline from a recognized institution. Candidates pursuing a Ph.D. with significant industry experience may also be considered for the Assistant Professor position, subject to University norms.
8–15 years of relevant experience in higher education institutions, incubation centers, startup ecosystems, entrepreneurship development organizations, consulting firms, or industry.
Demonstrated experience in mentoring startups, managing incubation activities, or working closely with entrepreneurial ventures.
Strong understanding of startup lifecycle management, fundraising mechanisms, innovation frameworks, and emerging entrepreneurial trends.
Proven track record of research publications, conference presentations, and academic contributions will be an added advantage.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, networking, and leadership skills.
Familiarity with national initiatives such as Startup India, Atal Innovation Mission, MSME schemes, and entrepreneurship development programs is desirable.
