Overview:
An ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant) Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining the treatment systems that process industrial wastewater to ensure it meets environmental and regulatory standards before discharge or reuse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor ETP systems such as equalization tanks, aeration tanks, clarifiers, filters, and sludge handling units.
- Ensure proper functioning of pumps, valves, blowers, and chemical dosing systems.
- Perform regular testing of water parameters such as pH, BOD, COD, TSS, turbidity, and dissolved oxygen.
- Maintain required chemical dosing (lime, alum, polymers, etc.) for effective treatment.
- Record daily readings, operational data, and maintain logs/reports.
- Identify and troubleshoot operational issues or equipment malfunctions.
- Carry out preventive maintenance and coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs.
- Ensure disposal of treated water and sludge as per environmental regulations.
- Follow safety procedures and environmental compliance guidelines.
- Assist in plant audits and inspections.
Skills & Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of wastewater treatment processes.
- Understanding of water quality parameters and testing methods.
- Ability to operate mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Record-keeping and reporting ability.
Educational Qualification:
- ITI / Diploma / Degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience in ETP/STP operations is preferred.
Pay: ₹21,000.00 - ₹28,000.00 per month
