Qualification
- Master's Degree (M.Sc.) in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Ecology, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Additional certification or training in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Environmental Clearance (EC) processes, or GIS will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience with a NABET-accredited EIA consultancy organization.
- Hands-on experience in preparing Environmental Clearance (EC) proposals and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports for projects under the EIA Notification, 2006 (and subsequent amendments).
- Experience in dealing with State Environment Impact Assessment Authorities (SEIAA), Expert Appraisal Committees (EAC), State Expert Appraisal Committees (SEAC), and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) is preferred.
Job Purpose
To prepare and coordinate Environmental Clearance (EC) documentation, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies, Environmental Management Plans (EMP), and regulatory submissions while ensuring compliance with applicable environmental legislation, NABET accreditation requirements, and client timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Environmental Clearance (EC) applications, Pre-Feasibility Reports (PFR), Terms of Reference (ToR) proposals, EIA/EMP reports, and compliance documentation.
- Conduct baseline environmental data interpretation and coordinate field monitoring activities for air, water, soil, noise, ecology, and socio-economic studies.
- Assess environmental impacts and recommend suitable mitigation measures for proposed projects.
- Prepare Environmental Management Plans (EMP), risk assessments, disaster management plans, and environmental monitoring programmes.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary experts, laboratories, clients, and regulatory authorities for data collection and report preparation.
- Ensure reports comply with MoEF&CC guidelines, EIA Notification, 2006 (as amended), NABET requirements, and applicable environmental regulations.
- Participate in public hearing documentation, regulatory presentations, and technical meetings with clients and authorities.
- Support project execution from proposal stage through Environmental Clearance approval.
- Maintain project documentation, quality records, and technical files in accordance with the organization's quality management system.
- Monitor amendments to environmental regulations and incorporate changes into project deliverables.
- Assist during NABET assessments, internal audits, and technical quality reviews.
- Mentor junior environmental professionals and review technical reports for quality and regulatory compliance.
Required Technical Skills
- knowledge of the EIA Notification, 2006 and subsequent amendments.
- Thorough understanding of the Environmental Clearance process and statutory environmental regulations in India.
- Experience in preparing EIA/EMP reports and compliance reports.
- Knowledge of environmental monitoring data interpretation and impact assessment methodologies.
- Familiarity with environmental modelling tools, GIS software, and Microsoft Office applications is desirable.
- Excellent technical writing, report preparation, and documentation skills.
