About Us
PNC Cognitio School (PNCCS) is a premier K-12 co-educational international school situated on a vibrant 7-acre campus in Whitefield, Bangalore. Blending rigorous academic pathways (Cambridge International & ICSE) with cutting-edge hands-on creation, our state-of-the-art Makerspace and dedicated Electronics & Robotics Labs serve as breeding grounds for future innovators and change-makers. We believe in learning by doing, and we are looking for a tech-savvy, structured professional to help manage our rapidly growing robotics program.
Job Purpose
The Robotics & Electronics Lab Assistant will manage the technical layout, component organization, and physical safety of our robotics and electronics lab. Leveraging a strong foundational background in hardware, circuit assembly, and electronic testing, you will ensure our students and educators have a reliable, organized, and safe space to design, program, and construct automated projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lab Preparation & Maintenance: Set up microcontrollers (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32), sensor kits, breadboards, components (resistors, capacitors, ICs), and mechanical parts prior to school practicals and STEAM workshops.
- Inventory & Kit Tracking: Systematically sort, catalog, and store hundreds of tiny electronics components, robotics chassis, and tools. Conduct routine inventory checks to flag low stock or damaged equipment.
- Hardware Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Test electronic components, diagnose faulty hardware, replace damaged modules, and ensure multi-meters, soldering stations, and 3D printers remain calibrated and functional.
- In-Class Technical Support: Work alongside STEAM/Computer Science teachers during lessons to provide secondary troubleshooting support when students run into wiring errors or hardware failures.
- Safety Enforcement: Supervise and enforce strict workshop and electrical safety measures, specifically teaching and monitoring proper soldering techniques and low-voltage handling.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Educational Background: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical & Electronics (EEE), Mechatronics, or a related technical trade certificate.
- Technical Knowledge: Clear understanding of basic circuitry, microcontrollers, embedded systems, sensory arrays, and basic mechanical building blocks.
- Tool Competency: Comfortable using digital multi-meters, soldering irons, wire strippers, and fundamental bench tools.
- Soft Skills: High level of organization for keeping microcomponents accurately categorized. Must be patient, collaborative, and enthusiastic about working with school-aged children.
Preferred:
- Prior experience managing a high-school robotics lab, a university makerspace, or an electronics prototyping workshop.
- Basic exposure to robotics programming (C++ for Arduino, Python, or block-based coding frameworks like Scratch).
- Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of basic 3D printers.
What We Offer
- A dynamic opportunity to work inside a leading-edge international school campus environment.
- Access to advanced developmental tools and modern tech frameworks.
- Competitive compensation and benefits matching industrial educational standards.
