- Job Title: Maintenance Engineer – CNC Machines & Plant Equipment
Location: Mysore, Karnataka
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to oversee the preventive and breakdown maintenance of CNC machines, plant equipment, utilities, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate should possess strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, hands-on maintenance experience, and the ability to ensure maximum machine uptime and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Annual preventive maintenance activities for CNC machines and plant equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of preventive maintenance, breakdown history, corrective actions, and maintenance reports.
- Ensure weekly maintenance activities are completed as per schedule, including Sunday maintenance programs.
- Attend emergency machine breakdowns and remain available until issues are fully resolved.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring machine failures and implement corrective actions.
- Handle both mechanical and electrical maintenance of CNC machines and associated equipment.
- Dismantle, repair, replace, and reassemble machine components as required.
- Coordinate with machine manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers for technical support and breakdown resolution.
- Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities across multiple production shifts through shift in-charges.
- Diagnose and rectify machine alarms, faults, and operational issues.
- Conduct machine geometry inspections, accuracy checks, and performance validation as per machine test charts.
- Carry out machine leveling, alignment, and calibration activities to maintain machine accuracy.
- Perform ball screw replacement, alignment, and precision adjustment activities.
- Undertake spindle maintenance, servicing, bearing replacement, and performance restoration when required.
- Adjust machine parameters and settings to optimize performance and production requirements.
- Handle maintenance coordination for EOT cranes and lifting equipment with support from external service teams.
- Manage preventive maintenance and AMC activities for air conditioners, compressors, utilities, and other plant equipment.
- Ensure timely follow-up and closure of Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Support machine modifications, retrofits, upgrades, and customization projects for existing equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, maintenance procedures, and operational best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related engineering disciplines.
- 5–10+ years of experience in CNC machine maintenance, machine tool manufacturing, or industrial maintenance.
- Strong exposure to CNC Turning Centers, VMCs, VTLs, and related manufacturing equipment.
- Experience in preventive maintenance planning and breakdown management.
