Job Summary
The Senior Accountant manages complex accounting operations and ensures financial data accuracy. This role oversees general ledger activities, conducts month-end closings, and prepares financial statements. The ideal candidate analyzes financial variances, ensures regulatory compliance, and guides junior accounting staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ledger Management: Oversee general ledger accounts and perform complex reconciliations.
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes efficiently.
- Variance Analysis: Analyze financial discrepancies and report on budget-to-actual variances.
- Tax & Compliance: Assist with tax filings, audits, and statutory compliance.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement internal controls to streamline accounting workflows.
- Team Mentorship: Review the work of junior accountants and provide technical guidance.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 4–6 years of progressive professional accounting experience.
- Certifications: CPA, CMA, or CA qualification is highly preferred.
- Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Excel.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of GAAP or IFRS principles.
