Objective of the Role:
As a Principal Frontend Engineer, you serve as the technical anchor for an engineering team. You create, own
and are responsible for the application architecture that best serves a product in its functional and non-
functional needs. You identify and drive architectural changes to accelerate feature development or improve
the quality of service (or both). You have deep and broad engineering skills and are capable of standing up an
architecture in its whole on your own, but you choose to influence a wider team by acting as a “force
multiplier”.
You Will:
- Design and evolve scalable frontend architectures for large and complex applications.
- Define application structure, component architecture, state management, routing, data-fetching, and
integration patterns.
- Make technology and architectural decisions across React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and
related ecosystems.
- Lead complex, high-impact technical initiatives from design through implementation.
- Drive technical strategy and translate product/business requirements into robust engineering solutions.
- Participate in technical design reviews and provide guidance on critical engineering decisions.
- Design frontend solutions that scale across users, features, teams, and codebases.
- Establish performance budgets, monitoring, and regression-prevention practices.
- Establish frontend coding standards, design patterns, and best practices.
- Improve code quality through reviews, automated testing, static analysis, and CI/CD.
- Define strategies for unit, integration, end-to-end, visual, and accessibility testing.
- Identify and reduce technical debt while balancing business priorities.
- Improve developer productivity through tooling, automation, and better development workflows.
You must have:
- Experience in the design, development, and deployment of large-scale enterprise applications with
multiple tiers.
- 8-10 years of experience in Frontend development.
- Proven experience leveraging AI to generate or refactor production-grade React code, including
custom hooks, Context API usage, and performance optimizations, with a strong focus on reducing
unnecessary re-renders, ensuring accessibility, and implementing robust testing strategies (RTL,
MSW).
- Knowledge of creating self-contained, reusable, and testable services and components.
- Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
- Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them.
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git etc.
- Experience of writing extensive unit tests using JEST & Enzyme, Jasmine & Karma
- Experience of agile test-driven development for robustness, usability, reliability, security and
performance.
