Job Summary:
The Biomedical Engineer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of medical equipment used across the hospital. The role also involves ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, training medical staff, and supporting the clinical team in optimizing equipment performance to ensure patient safety and quality care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Support & Maintenance
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair biomedical equipment and systems (ICU, OT, Radiology, Cath Lab, Dialysis, etc.)
- Schedule and perform preventive maintenance (PM) on critical care equipment
- Respond promptly to service calls and ensure minimal equipment downtime
- Monitor equipment performance and generate timely service and safety reports
- Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all equipment meets national/international safety and regulatory standards
- Maintain proper documentation of service history, calibration logs, and equipment inventory
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: B.Tech / B.E. in Biomedical Engineering or equivalent
- Experience: 1–6 years in a hospital or clinical setting
Skills:
- Strong analytical abilities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of hospital safety protocols and equipment standards
Additional Preferred Skills:
- Experience with asset management software (CMMS)
- Familiarity with diagnostic and therapeutic equipment
- Basic understanding of hospital electrical systems and sterilization equipment.
