The MS Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF), in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT-M) and Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER), is implementing a Wellcome Trust–funded project “Clean Land, Equitable Air, and Resilience (CLEAR): Advancing Health Equity by Addressing Waste-Driven Climate Risks” to address environmental health risks from open dumpsites. The project aims to generate evidence on the public health impacts of toxic emissions, implement targeted interventions, strengthen health systems, and work with local governments to improve waste management, build community awareness, and promote safer livelihoods for vulnerable groups, especially children and informal waste pickers.
Job Description

End-to-end management of the CLEAR project, including work planning, activity scheduling, regular review meetings, resolution of implementation challenges, and overall project coordination.

Provide strategic and operational oversight of activities across 3 project sites in Tamil Nadu and Telangana.

Monitor site progress and provide operational direction to site teams while ensuring quality of outputs. Liaise with state governments and key stakeholders to enable smooth project implementation.

Ensure timely documentation, reporting, and communication with funding and technical partners; quarterly submission of deliverables is mandatory.

Report regularly to the principal investigator on all implementation challenges and ensure timely course correction.
Qualification
Experience

Must hold a Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) At least 5 years of relevant experience in project management, with exposure to environmental or public health subjects.

Proven project management skills and ability to coordinate multi-site teams. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu desirable) Prior experience working with government stakeholders is desirable.
