Position Summary
The French Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging French language instruction aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE syllabus. The role emphasizes listening, speaking, reading, and writing proficiency while preparing students for IGCSE examinations and promoting cultural understanding.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver French lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum.
- Prepare students for IGCSE French examinations (oral and written components).
- Design engaging activities to enhance conversational fluency and comprehension.
- Conduct regular assessments and mock exams aligned with Cambridge standards.
- Provide differentiated instruction to support varied proficiency levels.
Curriculum & Assessment
- Ensure adherence to Cambridge IGCSE assessment objectives.
- Track student progress and maintain academic documentation.
- Stay updated on curriculum revisions and best practices in language teaching.
Cultural & Classroom Engagement
- Promote appreciation of French culture and global perspectives.
- Create an immersive and interactive language-learning environment.
Parent & School Collaboration
- Communicate student progress and exam readiness with parents.
- Participate in school cultural events, academic meetings, and professional development.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in French or related field.
- B.Ed or equivalent teaching qualification.
- DELF/DALF certification (advantage).
- Strong oral and written communication skills in French and English.
- Ability to prepare students effectively for international examinations.
