Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Merchandiser with strong contacts and working relationships with international buyers for our premium women’s fashion brand. The ideal candidate should have experience in handling international clients, developing buyer relationships, managing product requirements, coordinating sampling and production, and generating new business opportunities in global markets.
The candidate should have a strong understanding of women’s western wear, premium fashion, garment manufacturing, pricing, sourcing, export procedures, and international buyer expectations.
The ideal candidate must possess:
1. An established and active network of couture boutiques and multi-designer stores across Dubai/GCC, the UK, Europe, and the USA.
2. Proven experience in evening gowns, red-carpet dresses, bridal couture, and hand-embroidered garments.
3. Verifiable proof of international buyers personally acquired and confirmed export orders secured.
4. Strong knowledge of line sheets, wholesale pricing, MOQs, garment costing, sampling, and export documentation.
5. The ability to arrange genuine warm introductions to qualified international buyers within the first seven days.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with international buyers, buying houses, fashion retailers, boutiques, and distributors.
· Use existing international buyer contacts to generate new business opportunities and secure orders.
· Identify and approach potential buyers in markets such as the USA, UK, Europe, Middle East, Australia, and other international markets.
· Understand buyer requirements and communicate them effectively to the design, sampling, production, sourcing, and quality teams.
· Coordinate the complete merchandising process from product enquiry to sampling, order confirmation, production, quality control, and final shipment.
· Prepare product presentations, costing sheets, quotations, order details, and production timelines.
· Coordinate with buyers regarding samples, approvals, fittings, fabric selection, trims, packaging, labelling, and delivery schedules.
· Negotiate pricing, MOQs, payment terms, and delivery timelines while maintaining profitability.
· Work closely with the design team to develop collections according to international market trends and buyer requirements.
· Monitor production progress and ensure timely delivery of orders.
· Handle buyer communication professionally through email, video calls, meetings, and international trade interactions.
· Maintain accurate records of enquiries, samples, orders, buyer feedback, and repeat business.
· Stay updated with international fashion trends, competitor brands, export markets, and buyer requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Fashion, Apparel Merchandising, Textile, Garment Technology, or a related field.
· 3–8 years of experience in garment merchandising, export merchandising, or international business development.
· Strong and verifiable contacts with international buyers, buying houses, retailers, boutiques, or fashion brands.
· Experience in women’s western wear, premium fashion, occasion wear, couture, or contemporary fashion preferred.
· Strong knowledge of garment costing, sampling, production, fabrics, trims, and quality standards.
· Understanding of export documentation, international shipping, and order execution.
· Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
· Ability to independently manage multiple buyers and orders simultaneously.
· Strong command of written and spoken English.
· Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and merchandising/order management systems.
Preferred Candidate Profile
We are looking for a highly connected and result-oriented professional who can bring international business opportunities, build long-term buyer relationships, and manage the complete order execution process.
Candidates with an existing network of international fashion buyers, buying houses, multi-designer stores, boutiques, department stores, and online fashion platforms will be given preference.
