The Role
You'll be the driving force behind Kinship Hum — filling the calendar, building partnerships, closing rental deals, and ensuring every event runs smoothly. This role blends community building, sales, event management, and operational oversight. You'll work across Kinship experiences (both at Kinship Hum and other venues) and third-party rentals, turning Kinship Hum into a thriving cultural hub for Ahmedabad.
What You'll Do
SPACE PROGRAMMING & PARTNERSHIPS
- Fill the calendar with a compelling mix of events, experiences, and gatherings
- Source talent: musicians, speakers, artists, workshop facilitators
- Build partnerships with complementary organizations (yoga studios, book clubs, creative agencies, cultural groups)
- Create recurring anchor events that bring people back regularly
- Stay deeply connected to Ahmedabad's cultural scene — know who's creating what and how to bring the right people to Kinship Hum
SALES & RENTAL MANAGEMENT
- Drive revenue by actively pursuing rental bookings
- Identify and work sales channels: WhatsApp networks, schools, corporate teams, wedding planners, NGOs
- Nurture leads, conduct site visits, negotiate terms, close deals
- Create rental agreements, manage deposits and invoicing, track payments
- Handle full sales cycle from inquiry to post-event follow-up
- Manage enrollment and signups for Kinship experiences at Kinship Hum and external venues
EVENT OPERATIONS
- Oversee event execution from setup to teardown
- Coordinate with cafe, library, and performance staff
- Manage vendor relationships and client communication throughout the event journey
- Troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Maintain Kinship's quality standards for every experience
SPACE OVERSIGHT
- Be the welcoming face of Kinship Hum
- Foster community among regulars, performers, and renters
- Monitor daily operations, cleanliness, and maintenance needs
- Create an environment where people feel at home and want to return

Essential Background
- 2-3 years in event management, venue sales, hospitality, community programming, or cultural space management
- Track record of filling calendars and driving bookings
- Strong sales and negotiation skills — comfortable with targets and revenue accountability
- Understanding of Ahmedabad's cultural/event ecosystem (or ability to build that knowledge fast)
- Basic accounting skills: rental agreements, pricing structures, invoicing, payment tracking
- Comfort with ambiguity and wearing multiple hats
- Hindi + English fluent (Gujarati is a strong plus)
Highly Valued
- Experience managing rentals, memberships, or recurring revenue
- Background in arts/culture programming, coworking spaces, or third space environments
- Existing network in Ahmedabad's creative, wellness, education, or corporate event circles
- Entrepreneurial experience — built something from scratch or turned around underperforming operations
What Success Looks Like:
- Calendar is 80% full for the coming month
- First few rental deals closed
- Relationships built with 10-15 ongoing collaborators
- 2-3 recurring events established
- Every event runs smoothly without major incidents
- Revenue targets met consistently
