Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Service Engineer with a 1-3 years of experience in
servicing, testing, and repairing Battery Packs (Li-ion/Li-Po) used in electronic and electric mobility
products. The candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair, testing, and
ensuring quality standards for serviced battery packs.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and service battery packs, including:
o Li-ion / Li-Po Battery Packs
o Battery Management Systems (BMS)
o Cell modules and cell balancing circuits
o Charging/discharging circuits and connectors
Perform component-level and module-level repairs on Battery Pack PCBs and BMS boards.
Diagnose and rectify issues related to individual cells, cell groups, and pack-level faults.
Conduct cell voltage, internal resistance, capacity, and impedance testing.
Perform charge/discharge cycle testing and battery health/performance evaluation.
Analyze electrical, mechanical, and communication-related issues in battery packs.
Identify and handle battery safety issues such as swelling, overheating, short circuits, and
thermal runaway risks as per safety protocols.
Conduct functional testing and quality verification after repair/rebuild activities.
Maintain service records, repair reports, and failure analysis documentation for battery
packs.
Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams for recurring failure analysis
and corrective actions.
Ensure adherence to ESD, IPC, and battery safety standards during repair activities.
Follow proper battery handling, storage, transportation, and disposal guidelines in
compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Support field service teams with technical troubleshooting and battery-related issue
resolution.
Manage spare parts inventory (cells, BMS boards, connectors, wiring harnesses) and
ensure proper utilization of service materials.
Required Skills
Hands-on experience in servicing and repairing Li-ion/Li-Po battery packs.
Good understanding of Battery Management Systems (BMS), cell balancing, and
charge/discharge protocols.
Good understanding of electronic circuits, PCB troubleshooting, and soldering/rework
techniques.
Experience using testing equipment such as Multimeters, Power Supplies, Battery
Testers/Analyzers, and Internal Resistance Testers.
Knowledge of ESD handling, electronic assembly standards, and battery safety standards.
Awareness of battery safety precautions, including handling of damaged/swollen cells.
Good communication and reporting skills.
Educational Qualification
ITI in Electronics or related field.
