You work as a research intern under a faculty mentor (PI) on projects related to Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS)—especially Indian philosophy, cognition, consciousness, and cultural psychology.
The focus is on academic + research output, not clinical practice.
Core responsibilities
1. Content & Knowledge Creation
Prepare:
Research papers / reports
Curriculum modules
Educational content (courses, glossaries, etc.)
Help develop:
Study materials based on Indian psychology
Digital resources / documentation
2. Academic Project Work
Work on structured deliverables like:
Research monographs
Annotated texts / sourcebooks
Case studies in philosophy or cognition
3. Interdisciplinary Analysis
Apply philosophy to:
Mental health concepts (Indic perspective)
Behavioural science
Cultural/social psychology
Explore “Indian psychology” frameworks beyond Western models
4. Data, Documentation & Compilation
Collect and organize:
Traditional knowledge sources
Tamil Literature Concepta
Build:
Glossaries
Databases / repositories
5. Academic Participation
Assist in:
Conferences / seminars
Presentations
Knowledge dissemination (reports, policy briefs)
Example project topics:
Indian theories of mind (Atman, Manas, Chitta)
Consciousness studies (Yoga, Vedanta)
Logic & epistemology (Nyāya)
Stress, well-being using traditional systems
