Job Summary:
STM Journals is seeking a Marketing Research Analyst (MRA) to drive subscription retention, institutional sales, author engagement, and journal visibility. This role will focus on retaining journal subscribers, acquiring new clients, and meeting monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales targets while executing data-driven marketing strategies. The ideal candidate should have experience in academic publishing, and client relationship management.
Key Responsibilities:1. Subscription Retention & Institutional Sales
- Develop and execute strategies for renewing and retaining journal subscriptions (individual & institutional).
- Engage with subscribers, libraries, and research institutions to ensure continued subscriptions.
- Promote bulk subscription offers for universities, research institutions, and corporate R&D centers.
- Take full responsibility for achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets, ensuring consistent revenue growth
- Implement customer retention programs, loyalty benefits, and early renewal offers.
- Track subscription dropouts and develop targeted strategies to minimize churn rate.
2. Marketing Strategy & Campaign Execution
- Identify and implement lead generation strategies to acquire authors, reviewers, subscribers, and institutional partners.
- Coordinate with Publication Research Analyst and Editorial Teams to align marketing strategies with journal goals.
- Organize and oversee the production of marketing materials (brochures, flyers, newsletters) tailored for academia and research communities.
- Conduct market research and assess brand awareness, customer demands, and subscription patterns.
3. Author & Reviewer Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with authors, reviewers, editors, and research institutions to promote journal publications.
- Assist researchers in understanding publishing models, submission processes, and Open Access benefits.
- Promote STM Journals' APC/APC-free publishing benefits for institutional subscribers.
4. Sales Forecasting & Performance Analysis
- Track and analyze monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales performance against set targets.
- Assess journal impact, citation trends, and customer behavior to refine marketing and sales strategies.
- Provide regular reports and insights to management on sales growth, retention rates, and revenue generation.
- Monitor stock levels of printed journals and marketing materials to optimize distribution strategies.
