Job Summary
The Special Educator (Intellectual Disability) will assess, plan, and implement individualized educational and developmental intervention programs for children with Intellectual Disability (ID) and related developmental conditions. The role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary clinical team to enhance each child's academic, functional, communication, social, and adaptive living skills while supporting families throughout the intervention process.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct educational and functional assessments for children with Intellectual Disability and developmental delays.
- Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on each child's strengths, needs, and developmental goals.
- Deliver evidence-based one-on-one and group intervention sessions.
- Promote the development of communication, academics, self-help, adaptive behaviour, social interaction, and daily living skills.
- Design and modify teaching strategies, learning materials, and classroom activities according to each child's learning needs.
- Monitor and document progress, maintain therapy notes, and prepare periodic assessment reports.
- Work collaboratively with psychologists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, behaviour therapists, psychiatrists, and paediatricians.
- Provide parent counselling, home programs, and caregiver training to reinforce intervention goals.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning meetings.
- Support inclusive education planning by coordinating with schools and teachers whenever required.
- Ensure compliance with organizational documentation standards, ethical practices, and confidentiality policies.
- Participate in awareness programs, workshops, outreach activities, and Continuous Professional Education initiatives.
QualificationsEssential
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education with Specialization in Intellectual Disability (ID) from an RCI-recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the Central Rehabilitation Register (CRR) under the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
Preferred
- 1–5 years of experience working with children with Intellectual Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, or multiple developmental disabilities.
- Freshers possessing valid RCI registration are encouraged to apply.

- Strong understanding of Intellectual Disability and developmental disorders.
- Knowledge of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and functional assessment techniques.
- Excellent observation, documentation, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to build rapport with children and families through empathy and patience.
- Effective communication and counselling skills.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration in multidisciplinary clinical settings.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.
- Fluency in English is essential; Kannada and other regional languages will be an added advantage.

Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹32,000.00 per month
