- Operation of HT Systems: Monitoring and operating HT panels, substations, transformers, and switchgear (e.g., VCB, SF6 breakers).
- Preventive Maintenance: Carrying out routine inspections, testing, and servicing of power transformers and related protection equipment.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: Identifying, isolating, and fixing faults in high-voltage cables, overhead lines, and distribution circuits.
- Testing & Protection: Performing insulation resistance (IR) tests, transformer oil testing (BDV/moisture), and calibrating protection relays.
- Switching Operations: Executing safe on-load/off-load switching operations on power lines and equipment.
- Installation and Commissioning: Assembling and installing new high-voltage equipment, including laying cables and setting up transformers, based on blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Safety Adherence: Strict compliance with safety protocols (such as Lockout/Tagout), conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with local/national electrical regulations. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Valid License: A mandatory High Tension (HT) electrical license.
- Technical Expertise: Knowledge of 11kV/22kV/33kV power distribution systems, switchgear, and protection relays.
- Technical Skill Set: Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematic drawings, and blueprints.
