Job Summary
The Nursing Superintendent is responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, and coordinating all nursing services in the hospital. The role ensures quality patient care, proper staff management, compliance with hospital policies, and smooth functioning of nursing departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all nursing staff and nursing activities.
- Ensure high standards of patient care and safety.
- Prepare duty rosters and manage manpower effectively.
- Monitor discipline, attendance, and performance of nursing staff.
- Coordinate with doctors, department heads, and hospital management.
- Ensure availability of medicines, equipment, and nursing supplies.
- Conduct nursing audits, inspections, and quality checks.
- Organize staff training, orientation, and development programs.
- Handle patient complaints and resolve nursing-related issues.
- Ensure infection control practices and hospital protocols are followed.
- Maintain nursing records, reports, and documentation.
- Participate in NABH/JCI and other accreditation activities.
