A member of the Supply Chain and Operational team based in India, who will report to the Indian Supply Chain and Operations Manager and manage all logistics support. His main scope will be supply functions for finished goods (FG) and also be the part of each project team where product/service delivery related to FG is required. He will be working closely with the Indian domestic sales and marketing team as well as with the international supply chain and logistics team to ensure that the process of reaching the destination is legally compliant with their
relevant procedures. He may be also advised to work on existing and upcoming processes related to inbound & outbound activities in a timely manner for business continuity and development

Ensure full compliance with logistic & inbound/ outbound laws and regulations in India, including applicable Food Safety and Standards Authority of India Regulations and the Custom act.
- Prepare, submit, and maintain documentation for cargo registrations, licences, renewals, Vessel mapping & identify the most cost-effective shipping methods and routes, and negotiate favourable terms with logistics partners to minimize expenses without compromising service quality. Monitor load ability for each shipment.
- Act as the primary liaison with statutory bodies including FSSAI, Legal Metrology, Tea Board, and other regulatory agencies like DGFTs etc to ensure strict adherence to Indian regulations and trade compliance requirements in the factory.
- Respond promptly and effectively to authority queries, notices, and show-cause letters and provide documentary support to the ABF/ Twinings’ all Supply chain team in handling complaints & documentation.
- Maintains a good working knowledge of Indian Custom knowledges with Rules & regulations associated with the same, may have knowledges for Middle east, China, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, Australia custom clearing process & having knowledge on export modules & operating from SEZ, AA, & with different export schemes.
- The ability to explain Indian Custom requirements to all necessary stakeholders for Import & Exports consignments along with requirements from commercial invoices, labelling, packing list, BL, Waybills can be taken care.
- Work closely with Freight Forwarders, custom agents & shipping lines & with warehouse teams to ensure goods are packed correctly, inventoried, and ready for shipment on schedule.
- Advises on the legality of product labelling. Conducts product label approvals to support activities in line with agreed service level with all necessary stakeholders. Supports the managing of Raw materials receiving, informing to all stakeholders and necessary communications with required update in the sheets from time to time to ensure relevant updates of receiving, issuing and closing stocks.
- Ensure Finished Goods for domestics and export are kept updated and informed to all stakeholders from time to time to comply with Inventory levels mentioned in the ERP system or in existing accounting software’s.
- Ensure Finished Goods for domestics and exports are despatched & reached to destination onto comply customer timelines and schedule. Similarly need to ensure raw material, packing materials & other items required in our process are received at process stations on timely basis to comply with Inventory levels’ ROL limit & meeting safety stocks data or as mentioned in the ERP system for smooth functioning of operations.
- Maintain inventory databases for RM & finished goods and use all relevant tools (existing or proposed, perhaps trained) to ensure they remain current, accurate and fit for purpose.
- Carry out legal & compliances related scanning activities to ensure ongoing, proactive business compliance and advise on risk mitigation strategies on Logistics, export & import scope of works.
- Build internal capability by training Indian Supply chain team members on Indian custom laws, protocols & procedures with deliverable capabilities on giving workshops on new developments from Indian custom along with related associated offices to Indian customs like FSSAI, Tea oards, AQ, PQ etc.

Bachelor’s degree in commerce & science or equivalent formal education in Logistics or supply chains & operations.
- Minimum of 10-12 years’ experience in handling all types of custom agent, custom & clearing agents (air & sea).
- Min of 10 years’ experience in handling tea, herbs & food additives related experiences.
- A min of 5-7 years’ experience in handling the countries mentioned in Point number 5 in Key accountabilities area.
- Ability to translate complex technical and custom issues clearly to a varied audience.
- Willingness to challenge the status quo in pursuit of finding solutions and unlocking opportunity for product despatching and receiving on time.
- Experience to exports finished goods managing Advance authorization schemes with minimum handling of 150 MT with 40 SKUs per month. Skills / Knowledge.
- Ability to work in a fast-changing environment & good at dealing with ambiguity.
- Excellent relationship building skills and proven stakeholder management skills.
- Adequate excel using & presentation skill, facilitation and communication skills both in reading, writing & speaking.
- Knowledge on SAP or working with any other ERP software. • Speaking & drafting skill in English.
