Role Overview The Interior Designer will be responsible for assisting in and independently handling interior design projects, including concept development, design presentations, working drawings, material selection, vendor coordination, and site execution support. The ideal candidate should have a strong design sensibility, good technical knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced studio environment while maintaining high standards of quality and detailing. Key Responsibilities ● Develop interior design concepts, moodboards, presentations, and material palettes. ● Prepare detailed working drawings, furniture layouts, reflected ceiling plans, electrical layouts, bathroom details, kitchen details, wardrobe details, wall elevations, and custom furniture drawings. ● Coordinate with vendors, contractors, consultants, and site teams to ensure accurate execution of design intent. ● Assist in material selection, finishes, lighting, furniture, fabrics, decor, and styling. ● Visit sites regularly to check progress, resolve design queries, and ensure execution quality. ● Prepare and maintain project documentation, schedules, drawing lists, and site notes. ● Support client presentations and design discussions. ● Work closely with the principal architect and senior team members on design development. ● Ensure drawings and design deliverables are completed within agreed timelines. ● Maintain Jami Jambusarwala & Associates (JJ&A;) standards of detailing, finish quality, and design presentation. Required Skills ● Strong understanding of interior design, space planning, materials, and detailing
Excellent AutoCAD drafting skills. ● Good knowledge of interior working drawings and site execution. ● Ability to create clean presentations and moodboards. ● Understanding of furniture, lighting, finishes, civil work, false ceilings, panelling, and custom details. ● Good communication and coordination skills. ● Ability to take responsibility and follow through on assigned tasks. ● Strong eye for proportion, aesthetics, and luxury detailing. Software Skills Must know: ● AutoCAD ● Microsoft Office / Google Workspace ● SketchUp or equivalent 3D software Preferred: ● Enscape / Lumion / V-Ray ● Photoshop ● Canva / InDesign ● Excel for schedules and BOQs Experience Minimum 2-3 years of experience as an Interior Designer, working with a reputed architecture or interior design firm. Candidates must be able to provide a valid letter of experience from their previous or current employer. Exposure to high-end residential interiors, luxury homes, show flats, hospitality spaces, or developer-led projects will be preferred. Location Opera House, Mumbai This is a full-time, in-office role. Remote working will not be considered. Candidates should be comfortable commuting to the office and visiting project sites across Mumbai as required.
