We are looking for a passionate and hard-working Commis Chef to join our culinary team. As an entry-level chef, you will work under the direct supervision of a Chef de Partie or Sous Chef to learn the inner workings of a professional kitchen. Your primary focus will be assisting with food preparation, maintaining ingredient stock, and ensuring the kitchen meets the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation (Prep Work): Wash, peel, chop, and portion ingredients (vegetables, meats, seafood, and herbs) to prepare them for cooking lines.
- Station Assistance: Assist senior chefs in cooking and plating dishes during service hours, ensuring food leaves the kitchen accurately and promptly.
- Stock & Inventory Management: Receive deliveries, verify quantities and quality, and correctly store food items using the First In, First Out (FIFO) method.
- Kitchen Cleanliness: Maintain a spotless and organized workspace. Clean and sanitize countertops, cutting boards, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout the shift.
- Food Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to local health and safety regulations, including temperature monitoring, allergen control, and proper food labeling.
- Learning & Development: Actively listen to instructions, accept constructive feedback, and continuously develop your culinary skills, knife techniques, and menu knowledge.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in a professional kitchen or restaurant environment is a plus, but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are most important.
- Education: A culinary degree, certificate, or enrollment in a culinary arts program is highly preferred but not mandatory.
- Skills: * Basic knife skills and familiarity with standard kitchen equipment.
- Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and portion measurements accurately.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, work in a hot, high-pressure kitchen environment, and lift heavy pots or ingredient crates (up to 30–40 lbs).
- Flexibility: Availability to work split shifts, early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
Pay: ₹10,086.29 - ₹25,148.60 per month
