The Steward is responsible for ensuring excellent dining experiences by maintaining cleanliness, assisting wait staff, setting up tables, serving water, clearing tables, and supporting smooth restaurant operations while adhering to hygiene and service standards.
Roles & Responsibilities1. Restaurant Preparation
- Set up tables with cutlery, crockery, glassware, and linen before service.
- Ensure the dining area is clean, organized, and guest-ready.
- Refill condiments, napkins, and service stations.
2. Guest Service
- Welcome guests courteously and escort them to their tables when required.
- Serve drinking water and assist waiters with food and beverage service.
- Respond promptly to guest requests.
- Maintain a polite and professional attitude at all times.
3. Table Maintenance
- Clear used plates, glasses, and cutlery promptly.
- Clean and reset tables for the next guests.
- Keep the restaurant clean throughout service.
4. Hygiene & Cleanliness
- Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, service stations, and equipment.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Handle crockery, cutlery, and glassware carefully to avoid breakage.
5. Team Support
- Coordinate with kitchen and service staff for smooth operations.
- Assist during banquets, conferences, and special events.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
Knowledge & Skills Required
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude and customer-service orientation.
- Basic knowledge of food & beverage service.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with a willingness to learn.
- Good grooming and personal hygiene.
- Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods.
Education & Qualifications
- Minimum 10th or 12th pass.
- Certificate/Diploma in Hotel Management is preferred.
- 0–2 years of experience as a Steward or Waiter in a hotel or restaurant is preferred.
- Freshers with a good attitude can also be considered as trainee
Salary Range
- ₹10,000 – ₹14,000 per month (depending on experience ).
