Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and responsible Godown Manager to oversee warehouse operations for a transport company. The candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, supervising loading and unloading activities, ensuring timely dispatches, and maintaining proper records of goods movement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day godown and warehouse operations.
- Supervise loading, unloading, storage, and dispatch of goods.
- Maintain accurate inventory and stock records.
- Coordinate with transport, operations, and dispatch teams for smooth movement of consignments.
- Ensure proper documentation of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Monitor warehouse staff and allocate duties effectively.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and security of the godown.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and operational issues.
Requirements
- Graduate in any discipline.
- 1 - 2 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, transport, or godown management.
- Knowledge of inventory management and warehouse operations.
- Basic computer skills and record-keeping abilities.
- Strong leadership, coordination, and organizational skills.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in the transport and logistics industry.
- Ability to manage manpower and handle operational challenges efficiently.
- Familiarity with inventory software/ERP systems will be an added advantage.
