Job Summary The Meat & Fish Butcher is responsible for cleaning, cutting, processing, and preparing meat and seafood products while maintaining high standards of hygiene, quality, and customer service. The role includes handling chicken, mutton, beef, and various types of fish
Key Responsibilities Clean, cut, and prepare meat (chicken, mutton, beef) and fish (local and imported varieties) Scale, gut, fillet, and portion fish as per customer requirements. Ensure proper washing and handling of meat and fish to maintain freshness. Maintain hygiene and sanitation as per food safety standards. Store products correctly in chillers/freezers at appropriate temperatures. Use and maintain tools such as knives, cutting boards, fish descalers, and machines. Check quality and freshness; discard spoiled items as per company policy. Assist customers with custom cutting and product selection. Label, weigh, and pack products accurately. Monitor stock levels and inform supervisor for replenishment. Reduce wastage and follow FIFO (First In First Out) method
Requirements & Skills Experience in meat and fish cutting/processing preferred. Knowledge of different meat cuts and fish cleaning techniques Strong knife skills and speed in processing Understanding of hygiene and food safety practices Ability to work in cold and wet environments Physically fit and able to stand for long hours Basic customer handling skills Working Conditions Wet and cold environment (fish/meat section) Handling sharp tools and equipment Standing for long hours.
