Job Summary
Migration Lead
Define Migration Roadmap: Establish the global scope, timeline, phased waves, and deployment strategy (e.g., "Big Bang" vs. Incremental/Phased cutover).
Tool Selection: Architect and govern the data pipeline using Windchill Bulk Migrator (WBM), Windchill File Server, Info*Engine, custom APIs, and standard ETL frameworks.
System Profiling: Assess the legacy source infrastructure (e.g., Teamcenter, Enovia, Agile, or legacy CAD vaults) to identify compatibility issues.
Risk Mitigation: Build robust fallback protocols and system rollback strategies to guarantee business continuity if a production cutover stalls
Windchill System Admin
License Management: Audit and track active PTC user licenses to ensure compliance and avoid unexpected overage costs.
PTC Technical Support Liaison: Open, track, and escalate technical support cases directly with PTC for core product bugs and deep system defects.
CPS Installation: Apply Critical Patch Sets (CPS), security fixes, and standard updates provided by PTC.Code Deployment: Package and deploy custom configurations, business logic modifications, and Java code extensions across Development, Staging, and Production environments.
Vault Configurations: Set up and manage electronic file vaults, ensuring automatic replication between the master site and remote file servers (Replica Vaults) to reduce latency for global teams.Storage Optimization: Monitor disk space capacity, run cleanup scripts for unreferenced files, and manage the automated purge tool for old data iterations.
Windchill Developer
Server-Side Coding: Write backend Java code, business listeners, and server-side extensions using the Windchill API.
UI Customization: Customize the Windchill web interface using Component Configurator, JCA (Java Component Architecture), Info*Engine, and modern web frameworks.
XCONF Configuration: Develop and deploy property changes through xconfmanager to implement tailored system behaviors.
Data Modeling: Create custom object types, soft types, attributes, and relationships within the Windchill Type and Attribute Management tool.
Project Manager
Resource Allocation: Forecast and secure necessary staffing, including Windchill Developers, Admins, Solution Architects, Business Analysts, and Quality Assurance (QA) testers.Budget Tracking: Monitor project financial health, managing licensing costs, infrastructure expenses, and external consulting fees against the approved budget.
