Job Summary:
The Sample Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the complete development and production of jewellery samples within the Sample & Master Department. This role ensures that all sample pieces are manufactured efficiently, accurately, and as per client specifications—from concept/design stage to final finished goods. The supervisor coordinates with design, production, and quality teams to maintain high standards and timely delivery of samples.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sample Development & Production Management
- Supervise end-to-end sample jewellery manufacturing (CAD, casting, setting, polishing, finishing).
- Ensure samples are developed as per design specifications, client requirements, and quality standards.
- Monitor daily workflow and allocate tasks to team members effectively.
- Ensure timely completion of all sample orders.
2. Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with the Design/CAD team for new sample development.
- Liaise with production, merchandising, and quality departments to ensure smooth workflow.
- Communicate any design or production challenges and suggest practical solutions.
3. Quality Control
- Ensure all samples meet company quality benchmarks before approval.
- Conduct regular inspections at different stages of production.
- Minimize rework and ensure precision in craftsmanship.
4. Team Management
- Supervise and guide artisans, karigars, and sample makers.
- Train team members on new techniques, quality standards, and productivity improvements.
- Maintain discipline and productivity within the department.
5. Inventory & Material Handling
- Ensure proper usage and control of raw materials (gold, silver, stones, etc.).
- Coordinate for availability of required materials for sample development.
- Maintain records of issued and consumed materials.
6. Process Improvement
- Identify areas for efficiency improvement in sample development.
- Implement best practices to reduce lead time and enhance output quality.
7. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain records of sample status, timelines, and approvals.
- Prepare daily/weekly reports on sample progress and delays.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of jewellery manufacturing processes (casting, setting, polishing, etc.)
- Ability to read and understand CAD/designs
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Time management and ability to handle multiple samples/projects
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in jewellery sample development/manufacturing
- Prior experience in export-oriented jewellery industry preferred
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
