Job Summary:
As a Business Development Executive at Cargo Solution Brokerage, you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing the transportation of goods for our clients by leveraging the company’s asset-backed capacity. This position requires a blend of sales acumen, operational expertise, and relationship management. You will act as a bridge between shippers and carriers, ensuring seamless coordination, cost efficiency, and high service standards across all shipments. The role demands a proactive mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers and clients to ensure consistent business flow and long-term partnerships
- Negotiate competitive and profitable freight rates while balancing client satisfaction and company margins
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate shipments, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries in line with client expectations
- Monitor shipments in real-time, proactively tracking progress and identifying potential delays or disruptions
- Take ownership of issue resolution, including delays, damages, or service failures, ensuring minimal impact on customers
- Provide regular updates to clients regarding shipment status, addressing inquiries, and maintaining transparency throughout the process
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all shipments, rate confirmations, and operational activities in the system
- Ensure full compliance with transportation laws, industry regulations, and internal company policies
- Collaborate closely with internal departments such as operations, sales, and finance to improve service delivery and operational efficiency
- Identify opportunities for business growth by upselling services and expanding existing client accounts
- Analyze market trends and carrier performance to make informed decisions and improve overall logistics strategy
Qualifications & Skills:
- Prior experience or knowledge in logistics, freight brokerage, or transportation operations is preferred
- Strong negotiation and persuasive communication skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a focus on accuracy and time management
- Ability to perform under pressure and adapt quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Good understanding of transportation regulations, compliance requirements, and industry standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is an advantage
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
