Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in Auditing:
- Conducting audits of financial statements for clients under the guidance of senior professionals.
- Verifying accounting records and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Preparing audit reports and working papers.
- Taxation:
- Assisting in tax filings, including income tax, GST, and other indirect taxes.
- Preparing tax returns for individuals and corporate clients.
- Staying updated on tax regulations and offering suggestions for tax planning.
- Accounting:
- Assisting in preparation of financial statements and reconciliation of accounts.
- Recording journal entries and managing day-to-day accounting tasks.
- Preparing balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Internal Control and Risk Management:
- Assisting in identifying risks and ensuring internal controls are in place for clients.
- Evaluating and improving operational efficiency for clients.
- Client Interaction:
- Handling client queries under supervision.
- Coordinating and communicating with clients regarding documentation and reports.
- Exposure to Various Areas:
- Gaining experience in various fields like finance, accounting, auditing, tax consulting, and corporate law.
- Learning the use of accounting software and tools (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, etc.).
- Preparation for Exams:
- Along with practical experience, Article Assistants often prepare for professional examinations (CA, CMA, ACCA).
- Balancing the work and study schedule to clear required exams during the training period.
Skills Required:

- Knowledge of Accounting Principles: Understanding of accounting standards, taxation laws, and financial reporting.

Educational Qualifications:
- Typically, an Article Assistant is someone who has enrolled in a professional course like Chartered Accountancy (CA), Cost Management Accounting (CMA), or similar.
- Basic education is often a degree in Commerce (B.Com, BBA, etc.) or a related field.
Training Period:
- The training period generally lasts 3 years (for CA articleship) but may vary based on the certification course.
