The Electrical Billing Engineer oversees the preparation, verification, and submission of Running Account (RA) bills, final client invoices, and subcontractor bills. The role acts as a vital bridge between site execution, project management, clients, and the finance department to maintain steady project cash flow and minimize billing disputes.
Key Roles & ResponsibilitiesBill Preparation & Invoicing
- Prepare accurate Running Account (RA) bills and final bills for clients based on physical progress.
- Draft and process subcontractor and vendor bills according to their work orders.
- Ensure strict billing compliance with project contract clauses, tax laws (like GST), and company guidelines. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Quantity Surveying & Verification
- Review and prepare the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and handle quantity take-offs from electrical layout drawings.
- Cross-check and verify physical measurements on-site alongside site engineers using Measurement Books (MB).
- Audit electrical systems such as lighting, power distribution, CCTV, access control, and BMS lines. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Cost Control & Material Reconciliation
- Conduct regular material reconciliation statements to track actual vs. theoretical material usage.
- Execute rate analysis for extra items or non-BOQ work items using market rates or standard schedules.
- Identify project cost variations and maintain updated variation registers.
