The Senior Manager – Pharmacy is responsible for the overall planning, management, and administration of pharmacy services, ensuring the safe, effective, and economical use of medicines in compliance with NABH standards, statutory regulations, and hospital policies. The role oversees inpatient, outpatient, emergency, OT, ICU, and satellite pharmacy operations while ensuring quality patient care and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and oversee the daily operations of all pharmacy services.
- Ensure the procurement, storage, dispensing, and distribution of medicines comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain compliance with NABH standards, Pharmacy Act, Drugs and Cosmetics Act, and other applicable regulations.
- Develop and implement pharmacy policies, SOPs, and clinical protocols.
- Ensure availability of essential medicines while minimizing stock shortages and expiries.
- Monitor inventory levels, conduct stock audits, and optimize inventory turnover.
- Lead vendor evaluation, procurement planning, and contract management in coordination with the purchase department.
- Ensure safe handling and documentation of narcotic, high-alert, LASA, and controlled medications.
- Coordinate with clinicians and nursing teams to promote rational medication use and medication safety.
- Monitor medication errors, adverse drug reactions (ADRs), near misses, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Participate actively in Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, Infection Control Committee, Quality Committee, and other hospital committees.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, store personnel, and interns.
- Prepare departmental budgets and monitor pharmacy revenue, costs, and profitability.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including dispensing accuracy, turnaround time, inventory variance, expiry management, and patient satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with cold chain management and storage requirements.
- Lead internal audits, statutory inspections, and accreditation assessments.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives and digital pharmacy solutions.
- Coordinate staff recruitment, induction, competency assessments, and continuous education programs.
- Prepare departmental reports, dashboards, and management presentations.
- Ensure excellent customer service and timely resolution of patient and clinician concerns.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
