Position Summary
The Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring statutory compliance, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting financial reporting and business decision-making. The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry, and possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, taxation, and financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate books of accounts and ensure timely recording of all financial transactions.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Process vendor payments, employee reimbursements, and customer receipts in accordance with company policies.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and monitor daily cash flow.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure timely compliance with statutory requirements, including GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other applicable regulations.
- Prepare and file statutory returns within prescribed timelines.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, sales, inventory, fixed assets, and operating expenses.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and cost analysis.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during statutory and internal audits.
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards, internal controls, and company financial policies.
- Maintain organized financial documentation and records for audit and compliance purposes.
- Generate financial reports and analytical data to support management decision-making.
- Support finance-related projects and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com), Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and statutory compliance.
- Thorough understanding of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other applicable tax regulations.
- Proficiency in Tally Prime/Tally ERP, Microsoft Excel, and accounting software applications.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in pharmaceutical inventory accounting and stock reconciliation.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems.
- Familiarity with payroll processing and statutory payroll compliance.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and coordination skills.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with professionalism and discretion.
