About the Role
We are looking for a Field Agronomist – Who has good knowledge and can build genuine trust with farmers on the ground. You will be the face of OneRoot in your area - visiting fields regularly, advising farmers on crop practices, and helping them adopt better techniques and connect to OneRoot's marketplace. This role is ideal for someone who is locally rooted, comfortable travelling extensively by two-wheeler, and genuinely enjoys working directly with farming communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with farmers in the assigned local area.
- Schedule and conduct regular meetings with farmers to understand their requirements, provide guidance, and introduce OneRoot's marketplace and advisory services.
- Conduct regular field visits across assigned villages to monitor crop health, growth stages, and farming practices.
- Convince and motivate farmers to adopt recommended Good Agronomic Practices (GAP) and engage with OneRoot's services.
- Educate farmers on crop management, including sowing, nutrition, pest and disease management, irrigation, and harvesting practices.
- Maintain daily contact with farmers, understand field-level concerns, and provide timely solutions or escalate issues to the agronomy team when required.
- Identify pest outbreaks, disease symptoms, irrigation, soil, and other field-level issues and provide practical guidance to farmers.
- Follow up regularly with farmers to ensure that identified issues are addressed and resolved effectively.
- Travel within and across assigned villages/clusters daily using a personal two-wheeler, covering the full geography of the assigned location.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of farmer meetings, daily interactions, leads generated, field visits, issues identified, and crop progress.
- Act as a dependable local point of contact between farmers and the OneRoot team.
Requirements :
Must be a local resident or willing to relocate to the applied location — Chamarajanagar.
Kannada is a mandatory language .
Diploma, B.Sc., or M.Sc. in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field.
Freshers are welcome to apply; candidates with up to 1 year of relevant field experience preferred.
Sound working knowledge of crops and field practices, ideally with exposure to regional cash crops.
Valid driving license and own two-wheeler, with willingness to travel extensively across rural and field locations.
Comfortable working in outdoor field conditions for extended periods.
