We are seeking an experienced and passionate South Indian Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in preparing authentic South Indian dishes, maintaining high food quality standards, and ensuring efficient kitchen operations. The Chef will be responsible for menu preparation, food presentation, inventory management, and maintaining hygiene and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook authentic South Indian dishes such as dosa, idli, vada, uttapam, pongal, sambar, chutneys, biryani, curries, and regional specialties.
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of all dishes.
- Plan and prepare daily food production according to menu requirements.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and portion control.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
- Manage food inventory, stock levels, and ingredient ordering.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff as required.
- Minimize food waste and maintain cost-effective kitchen operations.
- Collaborate with management on menu development and special dishes.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a South Indian Chef or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of South Indian cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
- Ability to prepare large quantities of food while maintaining quality.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Culinary certification or professional cooking training.
- Experience in restaurants, hotels, catering services, or cloud kitchens.
- Knowledge of multi-cuisine cooking is an added advantage.
- Leadership experience in supervising kitchen staff.
