Field Testing & Business Development Engineer
We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled Field Testing & Business Development Engineer to conduct on-site testing, validation, installation support, and client engagement activities across various locations in India. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with laptops, hardware/software troubleshooting, and be open to frequent travel. The role combines technical field operations with client interaction, product promotion, and business development activities.
Key ResponsibilitiesField Testing & Technical Support
- Travel to client or project sites across India to test and validate product functionality.
- Conduct installation, calibration, configuration, and commissioning of hardware and software products.
- Collect field data, logs, and performance metrics during live operations.
- Identify issues in real-time and provide immediate corrective actions or escalate them to the technical team.
- Prepare field testing reports, documentation, and performance analysis summaries.
- Maintain testing instruments, tools, and equipment in proper working condition.
- Coordinate with the in-house engineering and support teams for continuous product improvement.
- Ensure all field activities comply with safety and operational standards.
Client Engagement & Business Development
- Meet prospective and existing clients to understand their requirements and operational challenges.
- Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and field trials to showcase product capabilities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to introduce and promote company products and solutions.
- Assist in preparing technical proposals, quotations, and presentations.
- Coordinate with decision-makers and procurement teams to facilitate business discussions.
- Follow up with clients after demonstrations and trials to address concerns and provide technical clarifications.
- Work towards converting trials and demonstrations into business opportunities.
- Support the sales team in generating leads and securing Purchase Orders (POs).
- Persuade and guide clients through the evaluation process, helping them understand the value and benefits of the company's products.
- Gather market intelligence, competitor information, and customer feedback to support business growth strategies.
Requirements
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Computer Science, or related field.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable with field work, site visits, and extensive travel across India.
- Good communication, presentation, and client-handling skills.
- Basic understanding of hardware, software, networking, and testing procedures.
- Ability to prepare technical reports and documentation.
- Prior experience in field testing, commissioning, technical support, or business development will be an added advantage.
