ABOUT THE POSITION
We are seeking an experienced Windchill PLM Configuration & Change Management Engineer to drive the implementation, enhancement, and governance of product configuration management, engineering change processes, and digital product structures within our enterprise PLM ecosystem.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in PTC Windchill, including Configuration Management, Options & Variants, E-BOM and M-BOM management, and Engineering Change Management. The candidate will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and IT teams to establish scalable PLM processes that support configurable products and efficient product lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities
Configuration Management & Product Structures
- Lead the design, implementation, and governance of product configuration management processes within Windchill.
- Define and maintain configurable product structures using Options & Variants and rule-based configuration methodologies.
- Develop and manage 150%/100% BOM strategies for configurable products.
- Support product family management and platform-based product development approaches.
- Establish configuration rules, option dependencies, and variant generation methodologies.
- Define and manage standard parts library for global and fluence specific standard parts.
- Lead part classification definition & implementation for all fluence components managed in PLM system
E-BOM & M-BOM Management
- Develop and maintain Engineering BOM (E-BOM) and Manufacturing BOM (M-BOM) structures.
- Define and govern E-BOM to M-BOM transformation processes.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure accurate manufacturing product structures.
- Support implementation of BOM synchronization, reconciliation, and traceability processes.
- Ensure alignment of product structures across PLM, ERP, and Manufacturing systems.
Engineering Change Management
- Configure and improve Engineering Change processes including:
- Change Requests (CR)
- Change Notices (CN)
- Change Tasks
- Approval Workflows
- Drive process standardization and governance for engineering changes.
- Support impact analysis, change implementation planning, and release management activities.
- Define lifecycle states, approval gates, and compliance requirements.
Windchill Administration & Customization
- Configure Windchill modules to support business processes and product lifecycle requirements.
- Develop moderate-level customizations, workflow enhancements, reports, and business rules.
- Support attribute management, object modeling, data governance, and lifecycle configurations.
- Collaborate with IT and implementation partners for system upgrades and enhancements.
- Troubleshoot PLM process and system issues.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Digital teams.
- Conduct process assessments and recommend PLM best practices.
- Support user training, adoption, and process documentation.
- Participate in global PLM transformation initiatives.
Required Qualifications
8–14 years of experience in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environments. Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience on PTC Windchill .

- Experience integrating Windchill with ERP systems (SAP preferred) is a plus.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting configurable industrial products, energy systems, automotive, aerospace, or high-tech manufacturing industries.
- Experience with large-scale PLM transformation programs.
- Knowledge of digital thread and digital product definition concepts.
- Familiarity with Variant Configuration, Modular Product Architecture, and Product Platform Engineering.
- Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Engineering Change Control, and Product Governance processes.
