Position: Senior Accountant
Department: Accounts & Finance
Reporting To: Finance Manager / CFO / Managing Director
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Management
- Maintain accurate books of accounts and ensure timely recording of all financial transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Monitor general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Review journal entries and ensure proper accounting treatment of transactions.
- Manage fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.
Taxation & Compliance
- Ensure timely filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, Annual Return, etc.).
- Handle TDS deduction, deposit, return filing, and issuance of TDS certificates.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure compliance with Income Tax Act, Companies Act, and other applicable laws.
- Assist in tax assessments, notices, and departmental audits.
Audit & Reporting
- Coordinate statutory audits, internal audits, and tax audits.
- Prepare schedules and supporting documents for auditors.
- Generate MIS reports and financial analysis for management.
- Monitor budget utilization and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Banking & Treasury
- Manage banking transactions, fund flow, and cash flow planning.
- Reconcile bank accounts and monitor working capital requirements.
- Coordinate with banks regarding loans, limits, and documentation.
Payroll & Employee Benefits
- Review payroll processing, PF, ESI, PT, and other statutory deductions.
- Ensure compliance with labor-related financial obligations.
Internal Controls
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and internal control systems.
- Verify vendor payments, customer receipts, and accounting entries.
- Ensure proper documentation and record retention.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent.
- CA Inter / CMA Inter / M.Com preferred.
- 3-5 years of accounting and taxation experience .
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, and Companies Act compliance.
- Proficiency in Tally Prime, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in finalization of accounts and audit coordination.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Timely completion of monthly and annual financial closing.
- Accuracy of financial records and reports.
- Timely filing of statutory returns and compliances.
- Successful completion of audits without major observations.
- Effective cash flow and working capital management.
