Role Overview
We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Senior Executive – DDGS Procurement to join our growing supply chain team. In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end procurement of Dried Distillers Grains with Soluble (DDGS) sourced exclusively from within India. You will work closely with ethanol plants, aggregators, and processors to build reliable supply pipelines, negotiate competitive pricing, and ensure consistent quality and timely delivery to our buyers.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and manage a robust network of DDGS suppliers — including ethanol distilleries, aggregators, and processors — across key producing states in India.
- Execute end-to-end procurement cycles: vendor identification, price negotiation, contract finalization, order placement, and delivery coordination.
- Monitor DDGS market prices, availability, and seasonal trends across Indian markets to drive cost-effective sourcing decisions.
- Ensure procured DDGS meets quality specifications (moisture, protein, fat content) by coordinating with quality assurance teams and third-party testing labs.
- Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with key suppliers to ensure supply reliability and preferential pricing.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to plan and optimize inbound transportation from supplier locations across India.
- Maintain accurate procurement records including purchase orders, contracts, invoices, and vendor performance data.
- Provide regular market intelligence reports on DDGS pricing trends, supply-demand dynamics, and competitive landscape.
- Work closely with the sales and trading teams to align procurement volumes with buyer requirements and minimize inventory risk.
- Support onboarding and evaluation of new suppliers in alignment with OneRoot's vendor assessment framework.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in commodity procurement, preferably in animal feed ingredients, Agri-commodities, or feed industry inputs.
- Prior experience sourcing DDGS or related feed commodities (maize, soya DOC, rice bran, etc.) from Indian markets is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of the DDGS supply chain in India — key producing states, ethanol plant landscape, and seasonal supply cycles.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate pricing and commercial terms with suppliers effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with procurement or ERP software for order and vendor management.
- Strong communication skills in English and Hindi; proficiency in a regional language (Kannada, Marathi, or Telugu) is a plus.
- Ability to travel to supplier locations across India as required.
- High attention to detail, integrity in vendor dealings, and a proactive problem-solving approach.
Good to Have
- Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Agriculture, Animal Nutrition, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Existing network of DDGS suppliers or ethanol distilleries in states such as Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Telangana, or Karnataka.
- Familiarity with commodity quality testing parameters and FSSAI/BIS standards for feed ingredients.
- Experience using commodity trading or marketplace platforms.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
