- Provide comprehensive nursing care to mothers during labour, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period.
- Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs and identify complications promptly.
- Assist obstetricians and gynecologists during normal, assisted, and emergency deliveries.
- Prepare and maintain labour room equipment, instruments, and emergency supplies.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and injections as prescribed.
- Perform immediate newborn assessment and assist in neonatal resuscitation when required.
- Ensure strict infection prevention and aseptic techniques are followed.
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation, labour records, and patient reports.
- Supervise and guide junior nurses and support staff in the labour room.
- Coordinate with OT, NICU, anesthetists, and pediatricians during emergencies.
- Educate and emotionally support mothers and their families throughout labour and delivery.
- Ensure patient safety, privacy, and quality nursing care at all times.
- Participate in emergency obstetric drills and quality improvement activities.
- Ensure labour room cleanliness, readiness, and compliance with hospital protocols.
Qualification:
- B.Sc Nursing / GNM / ANM
- Valid Nursing Council Registration
Experience:
10-15 years of Labour Room experience
