Job Title: Backend Engineer (Node.js & Cloud)
Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Backend Engineer to design, scale, and maintain our core server-side logic and APIs. In this role, you will transition legacy components into microservices, optimize data workflows, and ensure our cloud infrastructure is secure and resilient. You will work closely with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver high-quality, production-ready software.
Core Responsibilities
API & Service Development: Design, build, and maintain highly scalable backend services and robust RESTful/GraphQL APIs using Node.js.
Architecture Evolution: Develop microservices and event-driven applications to support high-throughput, low-latency business logic.
Data Management: Write optimized queries, design schemas, and manage data consistency across both relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases.
Cloud & Security: Deploy and maintain applications in cloud environments, implementing secure authentication/authorization protocols (e.g., OAuth, JWT) and data encryption.
Engineering Excellence: Drive application performance tuning, conduct rigorous code reviews, write automated tests, and support CI/CD pipeline automation.
Sourcing & Screening Guide for TA1. Must-Have Technical Skills (Screening Criteria)
Language/Framework: Deep production experience with Node.js (and frameworks like Express, NestJS, or Fastify).
Database Proficiency: Hands-on experience with both relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and non-relational (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis) databases.
Cloud Infrastructure: Proven experience deploying and monitoring applications in a major cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Architectural Patterns: Clear understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture, and message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS).
Testing & Quality: Experience writing unit/integration tests (using Jest, Mocha, or Chai) and participating in CI/CD workflows.
2. Nice-to-Have Skills (Sourcing Differentiators)
Experience with TypeScript in a backend environment.
Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration via Kubernetes.
Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
