Purchase Executive-European Buying
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Purchase Executive to support the Managing
Director in all procurement and sourcing activities for European markets. The ideal candidate
should possess strong knowledge of European procurement practices, supplier sourcing,
international trade, agricultural commodities, food ingredients, and supply chain
coordination.
The role requires excellent communication and negotiation skills, strong analytical abilities,
commercial awareness, and the capability to build long-term relationships with suppliers
across Europe.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Managing Director in all procurement, sourcing, and purchasing
operations.
Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers across European countries for
agricultural commodities, food ingredients, and related products.
Conduct supplier sourcing, market research, price benchmarking, and competitor
analysis to identify cost-effective procurement opportunities.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential suppliers to ensure
reliable supply and competitive pricing.
Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, payment conditions, delivery schedules, and
contracts with suppliers.
Monitor European market trends, crop conditions, commodity prices, regulations, and
emerging sourcing opportunities.
Coordinate with suppliers regarding quotations, samples, product specifications,
certifications, documentation, and shipment schedules.
Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, pricing, delivery, compliance, and
service standards.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, European regulations,
food safety standards, and import/export requirements.
Maintain and update supplier databases, price comparisons, procurement records, and
sourcing reports.
Coordinate with logistics, quality, finance, and documentation teams to ensure smooth
procurement operations.
Review purchase documentation, contracts, and supplier agreements for accuracy and
compliance.
Prepare procurement reports, sourcing analysis, cost-saving reports, supplier
performance reports, and presentations for management.
Monitor inventory requirements and coordinate procurement planning to ensure
uninterrupted supply.*
Support new product development initiatives by identifying suitable suppliers and
sourcing innovative products.
Stay updated with new technologies, digital procurement tools, and market
developments to improve procurement efficiency.
Visit suppliers, trade exhibitions, and industry events across Europe
whenever required.
Perform any additional procurement and sourcing responsibilities assigned by the
Managing Director.
Required Skills & Competencies
Minimum 3-5 years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably in European
buying.
Strong knowledge of European markets and sourcing practices.
Experience in agricultural commodities, food ingredients, or food technology
procurement is highly preferred.
Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
Strong analytical, commercial, and problem-solving abilities.
Good understanding of international trade, import/export documentation, and
procurement processes.
Knowledge of food safety standards, certifications, and quality requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and procurement software.
Strong presentation and reporting skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication in English. Additional European
language skills (Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, or German) will be an added
advantage.
Self-motivated, result-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced
international environment.

Experience: Minimum 3-5 Years
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy Food Technology,
Business, Economics or a related field.
